the move away from physical buttons was baffling and i'm glad the EU continues to be there to help prevent nonsense. it's an annoyance at best and a safety hazard at worst. glad my car (2021 camaro) is super no-nonsense and has buttons/dials for everything

Next year, the EU will require cars to have buttons & dials -- not just touchscreens -- to get a top safety rating.
This is a great move. Drivers can fiddle with knobs & buttons without taking their eyes off the road, but they can't do that with touchscreens.
(Even better: Tesla will hate this)

Taking your eyes off the road just to do some rote task.
If important functions require the touchscreen, then there’s “whoops, my heater crashed” or “can’t change gears because my control interface is frozen.”
OLD DESIGNS ARE NOT BAD JUST BECAUSE THEY’RE OLD.
But tbh I actually really like the v6 it runs with so no complaints here
it's a car. those aren't known for being small.
...which i'd certainly want for a car of that price, granted, but STILL. this is peak.
Everyone else who puts those on the side or on screen are wrong!
FOR WHAT REASONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
