Had honestly never heard the of a ruralist before, but I love it!

That’s one reason I think we need a word other than urbanism to describe the movement.

I sometimes think Urbanists need to spend some time devoted to explaining housing/transit uses in a rural context. A strong urbanist policy is good for preservation of rural places, and rural communities are negatively impacted by bad transportation policy too.
