I may wish to project something about myself differently from day to day, but that projection isn't contained in clothing alone, or if it is it's certainly not one of the four and a half different genres of clothing that are approved for public appearances

But it's also a toy. Because it HAS to also be a toy. If I want a barbie doll waist and boobs today then I should be able to do that because it's fun. Same if I want to be chonky and friend-shaped, or if I want to [miscellaneous] today. Fun is an indelible part of the equation.
