For over a decade, social media has filled in the cracks of my life. Waiting in line? Need a break? Check in with your pals. But now that social media doesn't feel safe or makes me feel gross, all the old standbys are gone. No magazines. No Reader's Digest on the toilet. So how do we fill the time?

It’s like that feeling when I keep checking my pockets for my keys and wallet like I’m lost or missing something.
I'm weaning myself slowly...and binging Los Espookys in the meantime.
(My real answer is that my social use of the internet has moved onto off-social media avenues where friends who share similar interests and values create micro-communities)

Also, more targeted social media; I mostly go to a Capitals blog with a lovely comments community and subreddits dedicated only to sports.
* I write 2-3k words a day
* I lift every other day and get 30 minutes of cardio every day
* I spend time with friends, go for long walks, do crafts, and spend time with my family
I am not an idiot. The point here is that we eradicated time fillers.
The mental quiet is good for me.
Read random Wikipedia articles? Text chain with your 30 closest friends about your pets? Daydream?
Maybe if it were short stories.
I also play whay I call "fidget" games when Im in line. Candy crush type stuff.
Social media may suck but the phones are still useful.
Thinking about maybe photography again.
Also meh.
