Exactly. I will actively and unceremoniously cut anyone who uses AI for their stuff. I don't stand for theft, especially when they are turning around and pretending to be part of the community they stole from. Gross.

100 percent agree there. It's cost me a close friend before, but frankly if they won't respect my boundaries and keep sending me AI shit after I explicitly told them not too- then they weren't a good friend anyway

Moral arguments aside (though I do agree with them)

I just find the whole idea of being expected to put effort something when it's "creator" couldn't be bothered with it to be mindbogglingly insulting.

If the "creator" of the work doesn't put any effort into it, why the heck should I lol.

(I'd rather just read / look at whatever original material the AI machine is plagiarizing. It's more interesting and I can endlessly ask questions about the characters, inspirations and stuff. Chatting about characters is fun)

And as for AI in book covers and comics;

If the cover is AI I will assume the insides/ scripts are too. Why should I assume otherwise? (Especially when it involves risking time and money better spent on literally anything else)
