I think thats part of why I didn't like Spectre. Some incredibly talented people made it, but try tried to a very stupid plot, in a very straight faced way and couldn't land it.

I think they’re basically the same film. Like Spy and Moon, and like Spy and Moon they demonstrate that that writer / director combination had only one Bond film in them.
Yeah it tried to land the balance but didn't quite. Of the Craig films I think you have:
Casino Royale: A excellent spy thriller that's not quite bond
QoS: Died in the editors room
Skyfall: Perhaps the perfect Bond film, deeply flawed but still
Spectre: A mess
NTtD: almost lands it but again misses
Thought after NTTD they'd reboot Dr No, actually set it in 1957 with someone looking gauntly like Hoagy Carmichael and go for the full guano climax. Preferably 93 minutes and in black & white...
