1) highlight that we celebrate diversity in the animal kingdom with cool examples
2) don't conflate sex & gender- define these clearly to students. I don't wanna hear about the gender of ducks in their essays!
4) make it clear that we oversimplify to teach concepts. E.g I'm often teaching that males are competitive/females choosy so I explain that this is a pattern but not a rule
