Just as an example, teenagers who have been or are being treated for cancer, do they not have the right to share their thoughts/opinions on how to improve patient pathways for others?

I'm just saying that NHS planning is so chaotic and traumatising, it's probably not healthy for developing brains to be exposed to that level of disorganization.

I think you underestimate young people. The children's hospital I work at has a Young Person’s Advisory Group, made up of young people – patients, ex-patients, siblings who are interested in helping shape healthcare services and making them as young person-friendly as possible.

The young people at the event had some pretty coherent views on how to improve things so despite all the challenges I think getting them involved and interested is important to the future.
