Haven't watched the video yet (I will) but I think this is kind of video is what is needed. Creators going through their decks and evaluating where they sit and why. It'll allow people to understand the philosophy behind the decks, not just the bracket restrictions, and help them evaluate there own.

I'd love to see similar videos from Rachel, JLK, and Olivia (with them being on the CFP). Even having Olivia evaluate Kibler's decks. It'd give a really good, broad spectrum of different deck builders strategies and personalities, and how they fit into the bracket system.

So far my games with the bracket system have been terrible. It seems like the incentive to max/min within the extremely weak restrictions is just leading people toward building effectively off-meta cEDH decks and calling them 3s. 1/

The restrictions either need to be way more granular or exclusively conceptual. Like the game changers list should either be 300+ cards, or it shouldn't exist at all because trying to split the difference between being an offline in-your-head rule zero guide and 2/

an actual set of rules just sends mixed messages and renders the system fully counterproductive. My last game night I had a guy rationalize his Stella Lee deck that won 4 games in a row with the same combo as a 3 because it only has 3 game changers and 3/

he doesn't run the most optimal cEDH combo line. Having a big panel to draw opinions from is cool and all, but I think including everybody's opinion turned this bracket system into a cute collage instead of a coherent idea. 4/4

You were totally on the right train of thought in the most recent @edhrecast.bsky.social that the bracket system needs 6 brackets

As is currently intended, an EDH deck is intended to be a 2, 3 or 4.

Adding another would remove the current middle (3) and force people to be more intentional

1 & 5 are seperate experiences you have to intentionally build towards, so as is 3 ends up being the middle

that's in part why you have so many people, in bad faith or not, going "well my deck is a 3"

Exhibition
1 - Core
2 - Upgraded Precon
3 - Refined Play Pattern
4 - Optimized

As stated by Gavin, Exhibition is intended to create a space for a kind of deck that doesn't really have its own zone

and we all know cEDh is a different thing from EDH, it's not just "any thing goes" but you are building towards a specific meta

Intentionally most decks are a 2, 3, or 4, that denotes most decks fall into one of three types of play experiences

But, I think there are more than 3 main types of core play experience amongst casual commander

Technically, as this is all subjective there are infinite play experiences

but I think 3 -> 4 brackets adds significantly more nuance with minimal additional complexity
