“What happened in that exchange between Pat McAfee and ‘Do your own research’ Aaron Rodgers is kind of the entire story of our age, of our information environment right now,” says @chrislhayes.bsky.social. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGu3hhGcstM

Repeat the same lie often enough and it becomes the truth to the masses.
It’s how tRump won this election, a lesson well learned from Hitler’s chief propagandist, Joseph Goebbels.
Legislation - illegal to to lie. Since people can’t seem to regulate themselves. There are defamation laws already. I don’t understand why politicians don’t use these laws when opponents are placing ads that include lies.
We sit with the entirety of human knowledge at our fingertips, yet we choose to wallow in the depths of ignorance when the purifying light of truth is inches from our faces.
If only AI didn't hallucinate so much, these guys could offload their "thinking" to chat bots. That would at least be more responsible than just going with their fee fees.
Up through about 15 years ago I watched all of college game day every Saturday. I dropped off some after that bc of getting married and having kids and also it got too bloated and i started watching premier league. But now I never watch bc I cannot stand Mcafee on there
Agreed. I don’t watch College Game Day when McAfee took over and guys like David Pollack were let go. EPL and La Liga are my preferred choices for Saturday mornings. As a Wolverine alum, I’ll watch CFB, but not Game Day. Cheers.
Immune only to irony, during a bizarre anti-vaccine video rant in which he invoked Martin Luther King Jr., Aaron Rodgers sports a t-shirt with the likeness of Doc Holliday, who died at age 36 from tuberculosis, a deadly respiratory disease transmitted through airborne exposure.
Yeah, Rodgers acts like someone who’s suffering brain damage from too many hits to the head but he said ‘if it’s true’. The pros like McAfee should be ridiculed though.
Yep, those cretins never do any research. They have computers in their pocket and Google "Covid 19 vaccine bad" and think that the existence of search results proves they're right
Basically, if you name and shame people, one of two things will happen
1) they will feel shame, and not make the same mistake again, becoming more credible as a result
2) they will not feel shame, continue to spread lies, and get the reputation that
3/ lacks credibility in the political sphere, and whose willingness to believe absurd lies about HIS OWN AREA OF EXPERTISE should disqualify him from further bookings.
It illustrates the main reason why I stopped following all sports journalism not relying on the written word. These buffoons are entertainers. I even stopped watching the ESPN Saturday pre-game show because McAfee sets my teeth on edge with his attention whore antics.
McAfee is not a journalist. He is an entertainer. That said, him appearing next to the Second Coming of the Bear, Nick Saban is like placing Cronkite next to Glenn Beck. While my distaste for McAfee is, possibly, rooted in generational preference. I too, happily choose not to watch College GameDay.
You can absolutely track ESPN's descent into mindless dreck like Stephen A. Smith and McAfee with what has been going on everywhere else. It's all on the same timeline. We've lobotomized ourselves as a country.
Who are the people that watch the daytime sports shows? Unemployed? It's been the same formula for decades. Remember when College GameDay was cool? Yeah, me too - back in 1998 😅
And the comments below that video further prove the point. People just aren’t willing to believe something that counters their deeply-held beliefs, no matter how fake the roots of those beliefs are.

Perpetually stuck in the cave!
Kind of like electing a faux businessman/strongman (who avoided the draft) to the Presidency. Twice. A convicted felon who can bankrupt casinos.
Imagine being the random dude who made that up- watching it go viral and laughing your butt off.
Speaking of Rodgers, how's that gig in New York working out for him? It's certainly working out for the Packers.
Scary there is no good answer to rectify misinformation.
Insightful…

Its good that you called out Pat McAfee, and I hope that he feels shame and does better.
But you should ALSO name the producers of ESPN's halftime show who booked Rodgers -- someone who
