Has anyone ever actually calculated the goose contribution? I don’t for a fractional second consider it a significant contribution, but such numbers might make for an interesting comparison to hogs and cattle.
There’s about 225,000 geese in Iowa so their nutrient contribution state wide is not significant
There are some beaches where they contribute to E. coli and various people are source tracking at a few beaches, but the data I’ve seen thus far has not been very impressive in implicating geese

3.24 million people
24.6 millions hog and pigs
1.05 million beef/dairy cattle
225,000 geese
Numbers from 2024
I think there’s about 2.5 million calves
Also at least 50 million chickens
