the Server Components version seems like a simpler model though I guess 🤷‍♂️

(at least in teaching it to beginners and also experienced React people after a bit of un-learning)

Not that I can think of - if anything RSC (especially RSC-first frameworks like Next.js) makes it clearer where the data is flowing from and easier to debug

Backend to frontend, it's more of a logical way to think about it

That said, there can be challenges during learning if your knowledge is anchored in frontend React mental models - flipping the way you think about the application execution and flow

i agree
but the server function version is more familiar to people who have already been building client side apps
and the RSC version actually gets more complicated as you introduce client components
