I think one genuine problem is those who draw direct comparisons: that is ahistorical and really does not help. This is a different time and we see distinct dynamics. But we know the patterns of fascism and they ought to be described as such. Tragically, so many continue to help normalise this. 1/2

I suspect part of that is down to disbelief, part of it fear. But, sadly, it’s also true that many really don’t see it because it doesn’t affect them directly … yet. I also still hope @royalsociety.org are very proud of their deeply irresponsible and unprincipled stand that continues to help normalise all of this by suggesting it’s perfectly fine to keep Musk as Fellow. Musk is a key player in the coup happening in the US. It’s not political to kick him out!

A few weeks ago when the @royalsociety.org sent me their usual request for evaluating proposals I denied, saying I reject every work for the Royal Society as long as Musk is a fellow. I hope that eventually enough scientists refuse to support them so that they have to listen.
