I think all we can do is keep fighting. Eventually he'll either back down because he feels his popularity slipping (I truly think he cares more about the adoration than the power; he is a straight up narcissist) or the people will rise up. We just can't become complacent.

What I feel like I am seeing is a belief in the system to hold as it stands. That feels like it own form of complacency.

I think it's good to try to prepare for the worst, but it's also important to have some hope. It's possible that the system will hold. I don't have faith in this Supreme Court, but places like the ACLU are gonna sue the administration regardless, so... I hope they make it happen.

But whether they do or don't, building community and refusing to allow fascism to grow in our neighborhood is what we can do in the meantime. I volunteer to feed the homeless in a local park weekly, for example. It's not making a huge difference in the grand scheme of things, but

it's definitely making a difference in the day of the people I'm helping to feed. If we all put a little light into the world, it will add up to something spectacular. If we have to build the country back up from the ashes because the Supreme Court failed us, so be it.
