Mind you, the fact that there's still queues round the block for the Abba Hologram experience after its been open for a few years, makes you wonder why they haven't built one in LA, or why there isn't a Beach Boys, Beatles, or Elvis options.

The ABBA thing is kinda interesting because it was expensive and high-effort to put together (and imo really great although obvs just a nostalgia trip) and I suspect whoever tries it next will cheap out and half-arse it so won't have nearly the success. Esp if it's for an artist who's already dead

Always amazes the creativity that goes into thinking how to screw the artist. One film producer told us we should consider future sales of any record deal we could negotiate as the fee for making the soundtrack - not actually offering any payment.

Labels saying we should consider payment from the producer of the film as payment for the soundtrack, and wanting the lionshare of the royalties from film screenings. Basically, all side wanted to money from the music, but to not pay the musicians.

Industry? Yeah right.
