Before the measles vaccine was introduced an estimated 400–500 people, mostly children, died in the US each year.
But there's always some dumbshit asshole saying ... "well, I got measles when I was a kid, and I survived..."
Meaning: the boys and girls who did die were just unlucky and don't count.
