Still looks suspiciously like it might be photosynthesizing something, with all that green on top. Maybe an alga lives on top of the fungus, like a parasite?
Yeah a lot of these have green algae growing on them indeed. I think the algae have a preference for the fuzzy kinds of mushrooms, gives em something to hold on to, and not get washed off by rain.
