I disagree. For one the defense is a bit shaky she could be there at least for mentorship of the younger outside backs. She could get phased out but to just not return ?

In the outside back position ? If you remove the more experience player like Krueger and Dunn since they are both inching closer to 35, who is left besides Fox, who admittedly has improved a to. Nighswonger gets up too and it’s a weakness that can be exploited. Everyone is else is newly capped.

I disagree. She’s played her best soccer last season and you need veteran experience, influence, and leadership around.

Don’t look at age as always a negative thing. There’s a lot of benefit and value that comes from age as well. The balance is needed.

Well Emma needs to keep that same energy. Lindsey Heaps is 30 (about to turn 31) and will be 33 by the next world cup. Dunn is 32 and will be 35 during the next world cup, and is now playing in a farmer's league.

Lindsey and Dunn are next. If I had to guess Lindsey's last world cup is the next one unless something happens before then. Same with Dunn but I think Dunn might be done before then.

There's no reason Heaps should be going to the next world cup. Our young corps who went to the Olympics will have significant experience by then. If she does go, she should be coming off of the bench.

Alex was still doing uswnt games at the end which she shouldn't have been. But they kept her on cause they were too scared that Sophia, Trin, Mal+young couldn't carry the team on their own. Which they showed they could during olympics. People were complaining cause alex wasn't on roster in lead up
