NASA engineers have wasted more money than this. SLS has been in development for 18 years and is billions over budget.

Substantially different project so hard to do an apples to apples comparison.
Elon is drooling at the mouth at the possibility of getting some of those billions, I’m sure. The engineers working at SpaceX might even get a COLA if he succeeds.

Is it though? They're both super heavy rockets designed to go to the Moon and potentially beyond.
They're the two biggest rockets ever made.
I mean... What about them is not comparable?
