yeah i kinda wanted to challenge myself by not using too many layers because i'm always afraid of straying from my workflow structure
i normally break out absolutely everything and end up having like a hundred layers which i think gets messy at the end
want to try something in the middle probably!
I did remember another thing that tends to reduce how many layers I use. Locking layer opacity so then the brush strokes are limited to what's already been touched. I'll do that on trim and metallics since those tones won't be changed later on, outside of ambient lighting from an overlay.
