When I was younger I used to be someone with a wide array of fandom interests and I’d make fanart for 10 things at once but I can’t do that shit anymore.. I only enough energy for one, max…

I very much understand that, but in an opposite direction. I used to be very hyperfixated on one fandom and continuosly draw for it. Now I'm spread thin over several and jump from one to another... but I wish I could focus on just one....
Tbh I think it’s one of those things you get into/out of and not something to force/maintain, I usually go years without being obsessed with something enough to be interested in it’s fanbase, and then I get really into something for a while, then leave for another few years usually 🤔
I’m into severance right now but I feel like if it came out when I was 17-18 I’d be making Irving Burt ship art but now I’m like ok cool it’s a good show. The energy I’d have to spend drawing fanart of it is not worth it tho
This also impacts the type of stuff I can get into, I’m pretty picky about it… everyone tells me to watch Arcane but I know I’ll want to draw fanart of that one Eastern European twink and like no. I need to save my mental energy. For the sake of my own mind, and life force. I cannot indulge
