Exactly and when my customers tell me Merry Christmas, I say it back. Or Happy Christmas or Happy Holidays. It doesn't matter as long as we are civil to each other. Not everything is a war and a divide. So with that being said, Happy, Merry Christmas to all and Happy Holidays to everyone. Bless all
I wrote a message on our neighborhood's, non-private, FB page, to thank a neighbor who had returned some mis-delivered mail to our porch. I ended my message with "Happy Holidays." I live in WV and I got a string of nasty comments about not using "Merry Christmas." The red can be so rude!
You know there’s literally nobody who gets offended by any of it. I say merry Christmas because it’s what I grew up knowing. Any old response is fine with me. You don’t have to respond ‘in kind’ - be yourself. If anybody gets put out about it, they never meant the good wishes in the first place.
I’m agnostic but I say Merry Christmas because I love the decorations and giving gifts to people. Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays is part of the spirit. People are just trying to be nice by saying these things and that’s good enough for me. Happy Hanukkah works too. 💙
