@cryptadamist Since Binance's trading pair is USDT, I wonder if Tether has a hand in this.

Tether can just issue more tokens to support a token. Unlike Circle's USDC, Tether wasn't ever audited and is under the jurisdiction of El Salvador.

@Sibshops binance offers pretty much every trading pair. historically tether is actually often not even the most popular stablecoin on binance, because binance chooses to make certain pairs "no fee" (and since 2022 it's rarely Tether).

@Sibshops ah, my bad. but i doubt that means Tether is directly involved. Tether is *by far* the most commonly used stablecoin on the chinese exchanges, of which Binance is the biggest one.
