The U.S. imports more than it exports. The last time the country became a net exporter was in 1975. It has had a trade deficit each year since. However, while there are concerns over the need to balance U.S. trade, several economists believe that U.S. trade deficit is unsolvable.

Our nation debt is mostly govt deficits and spending.
Foreign investment mirrors trade deficit. As long as the dollar is stable it’s where everyone wants to invest.
The problem is too many of those green pieces of paper wind up in the hands of too few people who already have too many.
