Response Operations - this is what you think of when you think of FEMA. These folks coordinate all Federal EM response operations while ensuring we INTEGRATE & PLAN w/ SLTT programs. Note that this does not say "take over". We are invited in by states and cannot dictate their operations.

Disaster Emergency Comms - This office enables SLTT gov'ts, the feds, NGOs, and private sector folks to coordinate & collab via the provision of operational communications support during response. Don't have a working phone line? We have that. No Internet? We can fix it. Need a signal boost? Sure.

Office of Emerging Threats - Identify emerging threats (cyber attacks! climate change! biological threats like pandemics! radiological incidents!) & then determine the risk of the threat, gap analysis (who is vulnerable? why are they more vulnerable? what specific areas of response are impacted?)...

produce/procure the things needed to address the threat and close the gaps. They also provide and mobilize the stuff you need to respond to the threat. They also communicate w/ folks about the threat. PRETTY IMPORTANT GROUP.

Field Operations! These folks organize the tsunami of people needed to respond to disasters. Can't help any communities or individual survivors if you don't have staff. These are our quartermasters and don't think just about one disaster - BUT EVERY DECLARED INCIDENT.

Logistics! I apologize to all my log team mbrs who I stress out asking "where u at?" when deployed. These folks deliver commodities, equipment, HOMES, handle transportation fleets, & general supply chain missions. You need help organizing a warehouse for all the donations you received? They got you.
