For isolated, disabled widows like me, Valentine's Day is a reminder of what we've lost. No thank you. An entire fucking holiday built on being part of a couple excludes tens of millions of people who are either voluntarily or involuntarily partner-less.

I'm sorry for that. Here in Mexico Valentine's is not only celebrated by couples but it is also a day to celebrate friendship. It is called "Día del Amor y la Amistad" which is translated to Day of Love and Friendship. I myself I have no partner, so I do celebrate with all my friends.

The only friends I have are online. I lost my IRL friends when I left the evangelical church and Republican party in 2016 rather than vote for a racist, bigoted, misogynistic con man. We live in a red county in a red state. I don't want to be friends with these people.

I understand, all my friends don't live in my country either so I have them online too. Living in a house where my existence is not real for my parents, the only way I have survived this past 10 years are with my online friends, chatting with them almost on a daily basis.

I'm sorry you have it so rough with your parents. Mine were not good or kind. It's hard for me to communicate with people on a regular basis because of my health issues. People tend to be really critical of those with trauma-related mental disorders. My social skills are crap and I know it.

Don't worry, tone in text is difficult cus it's all interpreted by the person reading it. I haven't lived much, but being a trans person that has lived in the closet for a third of his life, I can understand when things are rough :( And life can be rougher at times, so I try enjoying most of it.
