Pfft, I can finally tease a new project for 'Make Visual Novel Assets! Jam' because the basic code works.
Most on-brand Potato move ๐ฅ: Writes Ren'Py code for Live2D models, makes animated itch cover gif... and it's all through old school 2D frame animation and absolutely no Live2D in sight. ๐คจ [1]

I don't know any VN devs who use Live2D. ๐ Since you can't create Ren'Py web builds with it, I doubt I will use it regularly. ๐ค This restriction doesn't apply to for example VNs created with Naninovel (Unity), but I still prefer using Ren'Py for VNs.
That's true, what drew me into Ren'Py were the many examples and wide range of creative expression.
I picked this topic because I couldn't find much information about it, so it's also research for the questions I myself had.
Targeting ease of use and minimal code instead of fine-tuning the looks of automated animation.
It should work with no additional rigging in Live2D or overhauls of existing Ren'Py projects. ๐ค [2]
I'm relieved it all worked out so far, since tbh I know nothing about Live2D! ๐ฅบ
Very far in the past I only wanted to try it out in a VN, because it looked like a fun dev process. ๐ [3]
