I wanna get in the habit of actually finishing games. Since I basically only play zenless between comms and have done so for months, it feels like it's been at least a year since I saw a credits screen. I've got a LOT of backlog to pick over, too...

Just commit to a game, but dont set deadlines for yourself, since its going to stagnate playing it.
I would say if you have friends that havent played something, to make a book club of sorts, tho that probably is only best for games with an emphasis on narrative
I only got like 1-2 hours into it when I played it on launch but it's a competent, stylish action game done by Platinum during their much more competent era. Unfortunately it's been delisted EVERYWHERE, so you'll need to pirate it or track down a physical copy.
can't wait for all the Dominique art when you beat bloodstained (this is a joke about how Dominique as a character will likely tick off many of your character preference boxes) on a more serious note AI THE SOMNIUM FILES IS SO GOOOOOOOOOOD! Date is a very fun character
Out of those, Hat in Time, Death's Door, and Outer Wilds are the only ones I've played. All great! Outer Wilds is easily my #1 recommendation from this list. Might be worth recording? The OW community loves watching blind playthroughs. I need to finally play Eastward, Cave Story, and Enderlilies.
ruiner is a super quick game u could probably beat in 3-4 hours, ZE series is fun n goofy butll take a long time and the same goes for KH but its even longer lol
VLR was the one that took a super long time for me, 999 is decent length but i had it on DS so i was forced to restart from the beginning for the other ends so it got a bit tedious
its tedious, but the skip is really speedy enough that it goes by well enough (I also played the DS version on a jailbroken 3DS, and would recommend it as the ideal means to play)
Highly recommend Outer Wilds and Signalis as really good games you can complete in a reasonable amount of time. I'm also a really big KH fan and would recommend them, but that's a bit more of a time commitment.
Signalis is a heck of a recommend but awesome too, just make time for the Two hour lore video when you're done to understand what the fuck you just put yourself through XD
I really adored KH1 as a kid; 100%ed the damn thing with the help of a prima strategy guide, but for ~SOME FUCKIN REASON~ I just. never asked my parents for KH2? Or tried to keep up on the series at all?
Signalis is REAL good, definitely big recommend that 1
also I love Axiom Verge but I will suggest you remap the default fire button to a shoulder button or trigger or smth because unlike Metroid the game has no charge attack so optimal damage is going to very often be mashing (not fast, just a lot)
I heartily recommend Signalis and Outer Wilds as they are some of my favorite games of all time and consider them to be incredible pieces of art in proper videogame form (not just walking sims).
getting lost in decent indie games is usually my solution. Crow Country wasn't super long- you can beat it in a single day, maybe a weekend if you have nothing to do- but it was soooo good.
YESSSSSSS that has been one of my major goals this year it’s felt very gratifying so far!
also pls send me your Backloggd I love keepin up w/ what friends are playing 🥺

So basically, play more Zenless.
I would say if you have friends that havent played something, to make a book club of sorts, tho that probably is only best for games with an emphasis on narrative
Try to just focus yourself on one single game for the time being and see if you can make some progress in it once a day or every other day.
Once you get into a habit you can pile on more or pace out deadlines
Fuga is a nice simple turn based game that leaves the gameplay feeling cozy.
And Signalis I found just an overall enjoyable experience even having not played much survival horror.
also I love Axiom Verge but I will suggest you remap the default fire button to a shoulder button or trigger or smth because unlike Metroid the game has no charge attack so optimal damage is going to very often be mashing (not fast, just a lot)
...the ZZZ trap is real tho, ugh.
