it feels like 90% of the transgirl stereotypes are an overlapping circle on a venn diagram with "traits you develop growing up terminally online in anime and video game subcultures while depressed"

yeah definitely, especially because there's absolutely a trend in niche internet subcultures to migrate towards the same 3x3 grid of "favorite unpopular media" to the point that it becomes oversaturated within-niche without actually being mainstream.
I can only weigh in on this so much, but it is something I think about a lot. It is no coincidence that the 2010s gender revolution came about when most of the western world gained easy, fast, and reliable access to the internet.
(Tired Armchair Psychologist Voice) I dunno, you didn't get a real childhood as yourself so now you have weird sexual feelings about getting to do it again As You?
and then there is a second venn diagram creeping right in, similarily almost fully circular of autism and belly kink...

variant of meme of 'have you played game that makes you trans' and it's a universally acclaimed and beloved videogame played by literally everyone who's even somewhat into games rather than something so niche that if a normal person saw it their head would explode
Honestly I've been saying that for years. Types of brain wiring that it takes to Make somebody a nerd like that or nearly identical to the types of brain wiring that makes somebody a trans woman. The cables for both look very similar and that's why they overlap

(Doubt there is anything on sheepgirls as opposed to puppygirls lol)
It's been fascinating seeing the shift of 'terminally online gamer' stereotypes shift into 'transfem' stereotypes over the past few years.
