I wanted to get eggs the other day and they were $3.96 and I noped out. I end up throwing half of them away so it's not worth it. 4-5 years ago they were .89 (cents).

Eggs here are like $6 regularly so we only get them on sale (and even then, usually only in the December/January downtime when my spouse isn't working & therefore more cooking occurs)

It's because in Canada there is no grocery store competition. Loblaws, Sobey and Metro report more than a 100 billion in sales. They made more than 3.6 billion in profits. Opening a new grocery store is expensive and difficult to do.

Dems had a bill to stop price gouging. Mike Johnson would not bring it to the floor. 40% of eligible voters, lots of them young voters, did not bother to vote. We, the people, cannot change or fix things unless we understand this: Democracy OF, BY, FOR the people is not a spectator sport.
