i’ve been running Fedora since ver 36, Pipewire is stable and smooth, i just don’t think fedora has low-latency tuning? i haven’t messed around with the Fedora Jam spin though. maybe i should

I haven't altered any settings on my Debian install and it's working as I want it to
(My weird Pipewire/+Pulsaudio Frankenstein's monster of an Arch installation also handles music production fine)
I don't exactly know what's going wrong on your side so good luck I guess

I disagree with this. PW is used by all mainstream distributions atp with the exception of Debian I believe. When I was running Linux I had significantly less issues with PW than I did PA. Saying it hasn’t been tested in the open enough is a disservice to PW, esp. when Ubuntu and Fedora uses it.

It should be said that the only reason I don’t still run Linux is because I have an AMD GPU, and due to the HDMI Forum’s nonsense, I can’t take full advantage of my 4K144 display because it’s a television and doesn’t have a DisplayPort connection so I’m limited to 4K60 which is silly… ;-;

2 things:
I have always had slightly funky audio set ups and I don't believe many of the things would work with pipewire
And as I already said especially with Debian's version, that's like what? Two years of updates that I wouldn't have?

PipeWire is literally a drop in replacement for PulseAudio, to the point of even impersonating a PulseAudio server for compatibility reasons with its “pipewire-pulse” package. It is designed to work with all kinds of audio setups.

I have my Arch laptop with Pipewire
It's can be jank from my experience.
Pipewire and Pulse emulating apps have different mixing settings which I can seemingly never fix
And to say it's "designed to work with all kinds of audio setups" doesn't change anything, it doesn't mean it'll actually work

And the thing is on that same laptop basically everything works as expected
But I'm running Debian, everything's already working and there is no need for me to switch to Pipewire which could potentially just fuck everything up
(Also you don't understand how junk my audio setup is)
