4 May 2021, Oxford Circus about 1 pm. Nobody else on the platform or tube. I had also come up into London as one of 3 passengers in an 8 carriage train. Bizarre times.
When I lived in New York City, it was advised not to enter an empty Subway car because it's empty for a very good reason, notably a foul smell of human creation...

Not a Reform MP or a set of binoculars in sight. Nor any of the 15% ‘voters’ who support the rise of UK Fascism.
Your story reminds me of the impoverished state of Dublin's transport system. For our capital city not to have a proper train/metro/tram system is just plain sad. Certainly not as amusing as your story
PS writing this in Zurich where I'm bowled over by the extent and frequency of the tram network
Absolutely - my wife works in Finance in London and commutes to The City from Dublin early Mon and Thurs - she's Aussie.
She cannot comprehend how Dublin has no rail link to its airport. Planning, primarily- or the lack thereof - that and our road network is based on the one the Vikings put in...

I remember when they told us the ninety second railway was a myth, and then they delivered the Victoria line. Unbelievable service.
Teacher cornered me when I arrived in at 06:45 one morning.
