Will be hard to destroy Canadian economy though given Canada now has 40 million people, i.e. decent sized domestic market, and can trade with EU and Asia. Unless the US imposes a naval blockade, which is officially act of war.

Having lived in both Canada and the US, Canadians are far more resilient than Americans and far less materialistic. Americans easily get mad even when their standard of living not raising fast enough (results of 2024 elections proved Americans' greed.)

Moral depravity is the guiding principle of the Trump regime. So chance of actual violent conflict is quite high, especially with Trump's paramilitary troops like the Proud Boys.
