Honestly as someone who didn’t vibe with past DA games, Veilguard plays incredibly smoothly and looks gorgeous which is rare in gaming these days. It’s not without its flaws, but no game is. The grifters really ruined the discourse around the game.

The dialogue and writing weren’t perfect, but it definitely wasn’t unplayable either 💀 The gameplay started reminding me of DA2 and a hack-and-slash mass effect and I started finding it quite fun eventually!

Oh absolutely! My biggest criticism is it feels like the game was gonna be something more. Like, I wonder if its the live service aspect being removed, but I very much get the sense that parts were structured around something that is no longer there.

I think a lot of the heat came from the OG gamers like myself who remember playing the first dragon age. A lot of us have to remember this dragon age is the introduction for a lot of younger gamers to dragon age in general. I got a new coat of paint, different faces… But it’s still good 8/10 FOR ME

In fact I can spam a lot of my abilities with high Momentum gain as a rogue. Yes the companions' abilities are slower but there's definitely ways to reduce those with gear.

I concur. I have been playing game catch up and played all four back to back. The playstyle is a bit different, but they all did that. Games change. The only plot/world thing I can critique is there was no gritty asshole character really and that’s just another evolution of games thing. I like it
