Using wildlife surveillance data & modelling, the team mapped suitability for TBEV in Britain, identified key drivers linked to exposure in deer & created risk maps to guide surveillance & intervention.

The study, part of the TickSolve project, found TBEV infections were more likely in areas with more coniferous woodland & more deer species present, while warmer winter and spring temperatures may influence tick feeding patterns to facilitate transmission & spread
