This bit resonates. This decribes the US h/c system with those with insurance cover & those without (too expensive) who rely on medicare, but it is a last resort for many & under threat with Tr*mp. Yet many voting Reform oblivious to the real threat to their wealth & future is medical bankruptcy.

People see a broken health service and want it to change; the only politicians loudly promising to end waiting times are the ones funded by private health!

The real fixes required are deeply unsexy and slow, so it's hard to argue against their populist posturing.

Much of the problem is the HR hijacking of much of the uk including the nhs. When I started work, HR provided a service to managers. Now HR seem to think they are in charge. Give staff more control over their working lives and morale and motivation will improve.
