I’m quite prepared to wait a bit longer, having seen it collapse over the last 14 years, why would I criticise a government that has only been in power 6 months, tough and unpopular decisions might have to be made in the short term, let’s look long term!!
It doesn’t work that’s the problem, it’s been shattered by 14 years of undermining and underfunding by the tories, let’s give them a chance, you can’t destroy what’s already destroyed, come back to me in 4 years time and if it hasn’t drastically improved, I’ll call them out!
Indeed… he has never sought to hide his plan… privatisation. Meaning where exactly are extra staff to be found for this mistaken decision. NHS staff working one NGS shift before a second private one… with the attendant tiredness, burnout and all that entails?
Maybe for all the pensioners they've purposely impoverished, all the charities that won't be able to pay their staff, and all the people that will struggle to travel because of the bus fair hike it might have been better had Labour not won.
Reforms and improvements after 14 years of Tory mismanagement AREN'T GOING TO BE ACHIEVED WITH TORY SOLUTIONS such as... [where did I put my notes? Ah yes: here they are]... privatisation of public services! Not even 'some' privatisation (i.e. selling off the potentially most profitable bits).
Wes Streeting and Keir Starmer have made abundantly clear that THEIR Labour is ToryLite.
The mess that the UK is in was caused by the Tories. Agreed. But *Starmer's* Labour is going to carry on down the same path. Perhaps not as fast as the Official Tory Party, but still the same path.
Blair introduced the Private Finance Initiative to the NHS, and we are still paying for the substandard buildings put up at the time. Labour good, Tories bad simply isn't the story of protecting the NHS. Give the NHS its budget and then allow it to get on with the job. Keep politicians out of it.
Scottish Govt resists inviting private sector into NHS Scotland, tho sensibly using it to catch up after Covid.
Please say NHS England when you mean NHS England- there is no such thing as 'the NHS' when health service is devolved to the separate nations and are run differently in each UK country.
NHS Scotland our local massive hospital at Forth Valley hospital , most utilities are private sector contractors but the medical side is all NHS quite common now
