Idk what to tell you except that it was unknown in my corner of South Wales and apparently unknown on Usenet, which I joined in 1994 and which already had a florid line in abuse. I followed LGBTQ groups online (such as https://uk.gay-lesbian-bi) and never heard any mention of it.
