Chuck Schumer’s argument that a shutdown will enable DOGE to shutter agencies faster doesn’t make any sense. The courts are deciding whether they have that power. Even if it turns out they don’t, they have been. The damage is happening. The CR is the only leverage to get Republicans to rein them in.
