I try and make sure to like every post in a thread to help, but I tend to comment on the first one since most people may see it there, but perhaps the last one is better?

Mostly it's great! But when I thoughtfully construct an informational thread about FIV or whatever with facts and links, it's aggravating to get lots of comments repeating the exact misconceptions I address in the thread from people who didn't read it. It would make them at least scroll through.
That assumes people won't read the first post in a thread, get emotional about it, and jump directly to the bottom to reply without reading the intermediary messages.
I’m not assuming that at all. I’ve been online since 1995 and on social media since 2005. I know how this works. As I said in the original post it would get MORE people to read the thread, not ALL people.
Okay, then. I hope I didn't come off as patronizing. I was mainly expressing my skepticism that we can design systems to overcome the human tendency to post first and think about it later.
I get that for sure, some people can’t or won’t read anything longer than a couple sentences 🤪 but it would be nice to comment with some understanding, or at least like you said not leave the same question or comment over and over when you literally address it two posts down.
