Sure, but the RSV vaccine is really not a vaccine except for adults and pregnant women. Most of the kids were seeing getting admitted or two and three-year-olds but some babies that didn’t get the shot. Covid rates are low in our area right now. We’ve seen folks getting the flu who had the flu shot.
Are you including RSV as vaccine-preventable?
I'm not sure that's the best way to describe a disease for which vaccination is recommended only for people under 19mos or over 75yrs (or over 60 AND immune-compromised).
For most of us, given those recommendations, it wouldn't be vaccine-preventable.
The rsv vaccine is only recommended for children and older adults and in older adults it prevents severe disease not infection. The covid vaccine doesn't prevent infection it again prevents severe disease. Saying they're vaccine preventable is inaccurate, no?
Most aren’t eligible for the RSV vaccine, but yeah, higher vaccine uptake would help a lot across the board. Weird they didn’t class COVID as treatable, though. It’s no less treatable the two they did mark in yellow. Has its own antiviral and everything 🤷♀️
