As long as you stay in regular Medicare- the standards of care put upon healthcare providers is really excellent. The same standards of care don’t apply to Medicare Advantage plans- these are run by commercial insurance like United Healthcare/ Aetna. Regular commercial insurance thru employers- same
Yes good point. We steered clear of advantage. We did get a supplemental with Moda and they do a good job, so I’m not against them providing that niche. The fact that Medicare tries for clear explanations of the services and coverage makes a lot of things easier than they were with private insurance
That's a positive thing to hear. Where I live has a program for low income people to get the HIP plan which is fantastic and very cheap. I wish it could be extended to everyone
I put it to some test with a horrible accident a couple years back, FWIW. (Had a bit of problem with a grumpy hospital care coordinator who wanted me discharged before I could eat or drink, but hey.)
When I say “before I could” I meant was *unable* to do much of anything, without going into detail. Suffice it to say that the doctors quickly set things straight - thanks medical folks!
