Terrible news.
Surprised to see this guy on Saturday in Renfrewshire - sorry for the photo - couldn't get far enough back, quickly enough to focus! Is it a Bumblebee? Although it was a really nice day it was still cold with very wet weather - is this normal time for them to appear? Thanks.

I noticed far fewer bees last year, hopefully this year will bee better. I’ve planted all the right bee friendly plants (not necessarily in the right order) and have loads of “bee and bees” for the solitary and leaf cutter bees. I’ve built it so hopefully they will come.

It started well with so many queens in the garden in the Spring, then later on, no workers.

One of the possible outcomes of climate change is not just ‘warmer’ but a general disruption of established weather patterns. Species that have evolved to ‘fit’ our climate will struggle.
