It's really tricky, this. The only way to properly repair the relationship with the EU and make rejoining even the single market somewhat realistic is to make this an uncontroversial subject (the EU will NOT entertain going through Brexit again!). But real vision and leadership is needed for that!

And, unfortunately, there seems to be little appetite for that right now. Hopefully this changes at some point in the not too distant future, but until then it will be up to the civil society to keep pushing.

When has any gov been straight and honest with the public? The majority of politicians are in it for the power and to enrich themselves and their mates. I was interested and engaged with politics, the past ten years have sickened me. l am contemptuous of all politicians.

At the risk of being boring, people think about FDI in simple terms “tariff jumping” “technology seeking” “efficiency seeking” - whereas most firms of any size do all of this - and uncertainty is the big killer, including NTBs

Yes, they do, but somehow I don't think they will.
The RWM seem to terrify them. They need to get a lot tougher.
The need to do stuff that will convince people that their 'Change' agenda is real. Such as Levenson 2, dealing with MSM foreign ownership rules , OfGem, BBC.
They are too timid.
