What's always puzzled me about this truly horrible episode is why anyone actually complied with Jenrick's vile instruction (if they did). Would any of his minions have checked that it had been done? Easy to say "it's on our to do list" or "our budget doesn't allow for buying the paint".

I think it was one rule mainly. Hate to say it of a Tory MP, but he was a very good constituency MP who was even handed and conscientious in his constituency work. I just got a reply from an email I sent to Jenrick 6 years ago. Hardly on the ball!
