Don’t make any promises. This has been one of the most profoundly do-nothing governments I can remember in my life it would be a shame for some healthcare plan to roll out and for them to be no free GP in my area and all the rebate clinics so booked out you have to go to emergency in 3 weeks

Take the pressure off. Funnelling all of those who would have previously used Better Outcomes, ATAPS, and other community services into Medicare bulk billing led us here. Fund the full fee services for low income and vulnerable groups and providers earn enough to bulk bill the gaps.

Watching big announcements of new funding that came on the heels of removed services that weren’t replaced was heartbreaking, esp in areas like suicide intervention. There is a lot to rebuild in providing basic health services; it’s not about Medicare alone.
