When I was a comic artist I always hated the time it took for me to put the details in because it would extend deadlines, but now that I paint in oils I love putting those little details in too because people understand it takes time to get it “right”.

There's something about the mermaid rescuing and carrying the prince who ultimately doesn't "see" her, let alone realize she is the reason he continues in his privilege, that is hard to think about right now. The emotion painted into her face really got me. Beautiful. And a good warning.
