people are about to completely rewrite history so always remember biden could have made this ceasefire agreement happen over a year ago and chose not to

This plan was put forward like 8 months ago. Netantahu definitely was trying to sabtoage kamala and biden by not taking it back then. Republicans have done this before.
Also before an incredibly dumb person jumps in, yes biden couldve done a lot more to stop it but i dont want to ignore this part
i'm not so sure that he could've actually done anything (lawful) in his power to get hamas to the table - HOWEVER fuck him for not even trying. fuck him for not forcing israel to the table. fuck him for letting bibi run amok with no consequence.
weak-ass president. no wonder trump won.
and he and his people got up there and lied every day about it. Fine you don't care about Palestinians, but do you think it's healthy that these people lie constantly? does that not make you mad? (i don't mean you, of course)
It's wild really there's the precedent of the Suez Crisis in 1956 showing how America could pressure an ally, an arguably much less dependent ally, to do what they want in the Middle East.
Yet there's still people claiming he couldn't do *anything*.
"he couldn't have stopped it, he could have just stopped funding it" and what would have happened if we stopped funding it. bestie what would have happened.
You don't have "facts." No one knows for sure what the Israelis would have done without US weaponry.
For over a year, Israel has committed war crimes left, right, and centre in Gaza. And a lot of hostages were never released. Giving Israel weapons without any progress failed miserably.
So in your version of reality Netenyahu would have thrown up his hands, said "aww, shucks" and left Palestine alone rather than tapping their ally that already supplies 30% of their arms to fill their needs? That's what the genocidal maniac would have done?
What *always* happens under capitalism when there is a gap in a wildly profitable market sector?
I get that wishful thinking feels good, but you need to live in reality. There wasn't just some ceasefire button that Biden could have pressed that would have no consequences and saved Palestine.
It seems you were in those meetings if you know that the agreement could have been made earlier. Can you give us more insight of the process over the last several months?

Oh, and the US would lose any ability to negotiate with Israel.
How would any of that be better for the Palestinian people?

Does Israel exist in this scenario?
Lest we forget that this is the same ceasefire deal he, Blinken, and Bibi have ruined several times before.
