there is simply no data to back up the idea that most or even the slim majority of asian americans opposed affirmative action and i wish people would quit rehydrating this narrative without proper context

I’m Deema, mom from Ga. Za to my little daughter Sella one years old. Motherhood has been especially challenging as we’re living through tough times. I was hoping you might be able to help us in some way.
conversations about racism among asian americans absolutely need to happen but when they do let’s base them on facts rather than the highly politicized actions of a few. i would never expect a community to interrogate itself and grow based on this shitty discourse.
I'd say that's an Asian American conversation, and the rest of us need to stay in our lane and work with our own people on our own failures. Of course yt folks. But every letter of BIAPoC also needs to examine themselves.
totally referencing a real person but the second (also bad way) this conversation goes is someone US born saying "all Asians have antiblackness" and then it turns into a group self-flagellation session and I want no part in endorsing that
when i was in seattle there was a small group of elder asians who opposed affirmative action, there were over a dozen asian american orgs w/ overlapping purposes and identities who opposed this singular group.
