Naming and localizing a subsystem this way gives me far greater control over it (and, as a result, my whole system).
The task scheduler subsystem has been named, but not yet entirely localized. Still, I'm now at least able to disconnect and restart it, and can debug its behavior to an extent.

It's been made all the more difficult due to how seemingly differently I function, but once I accepted a more computer-like model, everything just... began to fit together much better.
I'll eventually have to blog about this.
